The Master of Mathematics Study Program was founded in 1992, with the aim of helping the government in developing education and research in the field of mathematics. The implementation of education and research programs in the Mathematics Masters Study Program at Gadjah Mada University is supported by the existence of 6 laboratories or groups of expertise, namely the Algebra Laboratory, Analysis Laboratory, Applied Mathematics Laboratory, Statistics Laboratory, Mathematics Computing Laboratory, and Statistics Computing Laboratory and has 6 (six ) program of interest or concentration. Supported by 36 lecturers, the Gadjah Mada University Mathematics Study Program manages and educates 150 – 300 students per year (student body).
Since its establishment until March 2017, the UGM Master of Mathematics Study Program has graduated 961 Masters in Mathematics with various interests or concentrations. For quality assurance, UGM Mathematics Masters Study Program each year audited by the UGM Quality Assurance Office through Internal Quality Audit and every 5 years accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education. Until March 2021, the UGM Mathematics Masters Study Program has always received an Excellent or A.
As believed by all parties, the quality of education certainly does not only depend on formal classes, but also depends on the academic atmosphere and good interactions between students, lecturers, and other academic communities. In view of this, the UGM Mathematics Masters Study Program tries its best to create such a situation.
